Dr. Lim Boh Soon

Dr Lim is an engineer by training but has worked in the Asian banking and finance industry for more than 25 years. He is currently an Independent Director on the board of 3 public-listed companies in Singapore and the USA. He has worked in various senior management positions for several regional and multinational organizations, including UBS Capital Asia Pacific Limited, the Natsteel Group, Rothschild Ventures Asia Limited and Singapore Technologies Group.

Dr Lim became the first Non-Muslim CEO of a foremost Global Islamic Bank when he successfully set-up and established Kuwait Finance House Singapore in 2007. Prior to that, he was the first foreign CEO of Vietcombank Fund Management Company in Vietnam and was instrumental in establishing the Company and its entire fund management operations for the largest State-Owned Bank in Vietnam—Dr Lim set up the Hanoi and HCM Offices and successfully raised capital for 2 funds.

Dr Lim graduated with a First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom in 1981. He won the Professor Mellanby Memorial Prize for outstanding meritorious performance in his final year. Subsequently, he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the same University in 1985.
